The Brief

On a precipitous Goan cliff overlooking the Arabian Sea, Casa Noir is conceived as a cruciform instrument for inhabiting the horizon. Four measured arms anchor themselves into the landscape, while their intersection becomes the emotional centre of the home, a soaring stair void crossing a panoramic living room and its water's edge.
The infinity pool stretches like the horizon itself, while the vertical void rises through the house, together forming a metaphorical nautical eyeglass, a cross that frames both sea and sky. Every movement through the home is a calibration of view, light and breeze, allowing the cliff to be experienced rather than merely occupied.
Dark, monolithic planes emerge from the dense tropical canopy, their quiet silhouette receding into the landscape as the Arabian Sea takes centre stage. Casa Noir is less a house on a cliff than a vessel for looking outward, an architecture where form, gravity and the infinite horizon find perfect alignment.
