JNSport is envisioned as a vertical landscape of movement where physical wellbeing, recreation and athletic excellence become integral to everyday campus life. Rather than dispersing sports facilities across the site, the project consolidates them within a single dynamic structure, transforming movement itself into the organizing principle of the building. Every level encourages activity, interaction and progression, making the journey through the building as engaging as the destinations it contains. The building rises through a sequence of interconnected platforms that accommodate a diverse range of sporting facilities, including a temperature-controlled six-lane swimming pool, gymnasium, skating rink, shooting range, table tennis halls and dedicated training spaces. At its pinnacle, a full-sized basketball court is elevated to the sixth level, creating a dramatic destination that celebrates sport as an aspiration visible across the campus. This vertical arrangement maximizes valuable ground space while establishing a landmark that reflects the institution's commitment to holistic education.
Wrapped in a lightweight, permeable facade, the building responds to Mumbai's climate by filtering daylight, encouraging natural ventilation and reducing heat gain. The translucent envelope softens the building's presence during the day while allowing glimpses of activity within. After sunset, the structure transforms into a luminous beacon, animated by the movement of students and celebrating the energy of the campus.
JNSport is more than a sports facility; it is an environment designed to cultivate resilience, confidence, teamwork and discipline alongside physical fitness. By bringing together diverse athletic programs within a single vertical community, the building encourages interaction between students of different ages and interests, reinforcing the social dimension of sport.
